The new campus places Nike at the forefront of environmental design, boasting Europe’s largest geothermal system and making it one of the most energy efficient office buildings of its time in Europe.

Chris Hays, while Design Partner at William McDonough & Partners guided the award-winning design of the 375,000 SF European Corporate Headquarters, located in the Netherlands, as Design Partner at William McDonough + Partners. In the design, the team sought to reinforce Nike’s workplace ethics by creating a sports-centered environment: a running track encircles the campus, arcing over the entrance as a bridge, and office buildings are designed around a series of courtyards that contain sports courts.
