Water surrounds this corporate campus designed for IBM’s corporate headquarters, reflecting daylight into offices. A wooden bridge, covered by a three-story glass canopy creates a dramatic entry. With high ceilings and a narrow floor plate, daylight permeates the offices and, in conjunction with views through to a central courtyard, creates a healthy and productive workplace.
Located in the Amsterdam environs, the building is 364,000 SF and contains offices, a café, meeting spaces and commons. The project was led by Christopher Hays, Partner-in-Charge, William McDonough + Partners, and was completed in 2004.
