Located in the Poblenou District of Barcelona and completed in 2008, the project marries ecological intelligence and modern design. The roofs of the project are at once striking and productive, housing either green roofs that capture rainwater, provide habitat and produce oxygen, or photovoltaic panels to generate energy from the sun. Buildings wrap around a series of through-courtyards, providing a connection with the outdoors and access to daylight and views.

The 14,000 square meter program includes a mix of commercial and residential hotel, with supporting shops and restaurants. Christopher Hays led the design team while Partner at William McDonough + Partners.
