Curved Wood Glulam Beams, White Walls, Large Hope's Windows in Charlotte, NC Modern Home, Designed by Best Virginia Architects.

This sustainably-designed home is located in Charlotte, NC.  The home is Winner of the 2004 Central Virginia AIA award and has been exhibited at the Building Museum in Washington DC.

A 4,000 SF green and modern house takes advantage of the beauty of the seven-acre wooded site. The design, led by Allison Ewing former Partner of William McDonough + Partners, is organized around a series of stone walls that extend from the interior of the house into the landscape, on axis with specimen oaks. The curved roof, like the tree canopy, hovers above the predominantly open-plan organization.
